Gina Shaw

As a children's book editor with more than thirty years experience, Gina has worked with children's literature in every form for every age from Pre-K to middle school. Most recently, Gina was Editorial Director of Book Club Original Publishing at Scholastic Inc., leading a group responsible for creating more than 180 books a year for use in all of the Scholastic Book Clubs. In addition to her rich editorial expertise, Gina is an author of several children's books--pictures books, easy readers, and early chapter books.

Gina is currently teaching a Continuing Education class at Hofstra University on How to Write a Children's Book, and she appears as a guest speaker at schools and libraries about the writing process, how a book is made, and what an author and editor do. She also critiques manuscripts for both new and seasoned authors and continues to freelance edit children's books for several publishers.
