Literary journals--sometimes called litmags or small magazines--offer new and established writers rich and varied forums for their work. Many renowned poets, writers, essayists got their start in literary magazines--Flannery O'Connor's first story was published in Accent magazine.This workshop will examine the world of literary magazines, how to choose the right publication for your short stories, essays, and poems, and review the basics of the submission process, from cover letters to manuscript prepration.
