Alan Brown

Alan R. Brown began his career in the entertainment industry over twenty-five years ago. After attending Seattle University, Alan worked as a staff and studio producer for T.V.C. Studios, (N.Y.) and then, joined forces with Osprey Productions, where he expanded his production talents to encompass writing, directing, art direction, and special effects direction. As Senior Vice-President at Osprey, he was involved with 2 Emmy winning productions, and numerous Gold, Silver and Bronze Cine Eagle Awards for his work on Documentaries.

In 1986, Alan joined Joseph E. Levine Presents as Head of Production, where he supervised overall production of feature films and worldwide rights sales. From producing “Thunderborn” to negotiating the remake rights of “And Now My Love” with Universal Studios, and the rights sale for “A Bridge to Far”, with MGM.

Upon the death of Joseph Levine in 1987, Alan supervised and managed the Levine film library and rights on behalf of the Estate and Citibank.

In 1990, as an Independent Producer, Alan Exec-Produced “Year of the Comet”, for Castlerock Entertainment/Columbia Pictures, and in 1991 was contracted to produce “Sea Kings” for Universal Studios starring Sean Connery. From 1993-95 Alan sat on the Board of Directors of National Video Industries, a Production/Post Production facility in New York.

He is under contract to produce Pat Conroy's, “Beach Music," with Alan Ladd Jr. for Paramount Pictures starring Brad Pitt. For the third year in a row, Alan was asked to be a guest faculty member and speaker for the University of South Carolina’s “Low Country Writer’s Conference,” which has included many of Americas most Illustrious Southern Writers.

Between 2001-2003, Alan was under contract to a European film fund. He has had the responsibility of identifying, structuring and negotiating long term distribution contracts with all the studios. His job description also included distribution and general entertainment consulting duties (identifying and packaging scripts, directors and talent.)

In 2007, Mr. Brown received the commitment for financing for Arclight Film Distributor (32 films over 5 years), and arranged their bridge and outside independent financing for their clients.

Mr. Brown’s current clients include Hollywood entertainment companies, studios, various production companies, global games developers and digital entertainment producers, and numerous financial institutions, agencies, toy companies and networks.

He is currently the sole proprietor of the consulting group, A.R. Brown & Associates, and is also C.E.O. and Director of AJ Creative Media Holdings, Inc., which specializes in tax offset and tax incentive, structured film finance. Mr. Brown resides in New Canaan, Connecticut.
